Stio Mountain Athletes Share Their Summer Favorites

The Stio Mountain Athlete team is a group of outdoor enthusiasts, elite competitors and everyday adventurers who live and breathe the mountains. Experts in all things alpine, from peakbagging to snack packing, they’ve been logging serious miles in their Stio gear this summer. Here are just a few of the pieces they’ve relied on along the way.

Women's Ridgecap Mid
“I've been loving the new Ridgecap Mid—it's become my go-to for everything from climbing peaks and backpacking with a heavy pack to traveling and spring ski mountaineering approaches. The support is outstanding, the traction is grippy, and it is able to handle rugged terrain and shifting conditions with total confidence.”

Women's Glide Tech Bike Short - 6”
“I’m currently in my trail running/hiking era and these shorts have been a game changer for me. They are the perfect length on my athletic build and have side pockets which are great for holding my phone and many snacks. The waist band doesn’t slip or roll down and they don't ride up no matter how long or sweaty the adventure might be.”

Men’s CFS Board Shorts
“I love these shorts! From surfing in Baja in them, to paddle boarding at home in Colorado, and just kicking around town…they are functional, stylish, and the material is durable without being too rough or thick.”
Men’s Lucent Tee SS
“This new layer is perfect for being active in hot midsummer temps. Even in black, it breathes and feels light as air. It’s been my go-to for trail running and alpine scrambles where temps are hot, and heat dissipation and sun protection are important.”

Nicole Cordingley | Skier, River Guide, Writer
Women's Vescent Hoodie
“My favorite Stio piece this summer is the Vescent hoodie. It's like a dressed up sun hoody. It looks sharp enough that I'll wear it to work and then I can go on a bike ride without changing. The hood is the perfect size to hide away in, even on a hot day. And it's my first pick for river days.”

Women's Hylas Hooded Pullover
“Summer sun is magic, and the goal is to soak up as much of it as possible without getting fried to a crisp. Cue the Hylas Hooded Pullover. How it both warms you in crisp morning air, and cools you in the hot afternoon rays, I don’t know—but it does. Soft, breezy, comfy, fun. Hood up for extra protection. Hood down for summit photos. It’s kind of the best!”

Wiley Miller | Freeskier
Men’s Ender Hooded Jacket
“Such a great shell for the summer! Very light and breathable and perfect for wetter days that come in the summer when camping and on climbing missions. I love to throw it on when I'm headed downtown for a bite to eat and there is some weather forecasted, too.”

Geneva Mayall | Trail Runner, Mountain Bike Coach, Activist
Women's Glide Tech Bike Short - 8”
“I've basically lived in my Glide shorts, as they are stretchy and allow me to still enjoy all the activities I love with a baby bump! From a 10-mile trail run to straight home to build a crib or paint the nursery, I won't take these shorts off!”

Alex Kim | Freeride Snowboarder, Backpacker, Biker
Men’s OPR Pants
“We all have that one go-to climbing pant for long approaches and multi-pitch days—for me, that’s the OPR Pant. It’s durable, breathable, and built for movement. The zippered pockets give me peace of mind that nothing's falling out mid-route or on the hike in. I especially love the micro-adjustable waistband, perfect for dialing in the fit.”
Men's Second Light Windshell
“An absolute multi-use windshell. It’s been a staple on every trip, easy to pack, super lightweight, and always worth bringing. Always prepared, always stoked.”

See how people are living the mountain life everyday in our gear.
